Whole child wellbeing - rooted in the seasons.
Our Programme
The Yo-Chi Programme is designed for children aged 3–11 and draws from holistic practices around the world. Our curriculum blends Seasonal Yoga and Tai Chi with mindfulness, guided relaxation, creative storytelling, drama, and puppetry. Through each term, children explore seasonal energies, natural rhythms, and a playful “Campfire Story” featuring expressive characters that support emotional learning. Movement, breathwork, and calming techniques are woven into every session, helping children develop body awareness, emotional intelligence, and a joyful sense of self.
Children leave each session feeling empowered, calm, and inspired. As they progress through the programme, they gain core wellbeing skills that support their growth in body, mind, and spirit. These include emotional regulation, improved flexibility and coordination, increased focus, and respectful communication. Yo-Chi nurtures imagination, offers tools for managing energy and stress, and encourages healthy habits and body confidence. Most importantly, it helps children find stillness, connect with nature, and build lasting resilience from the inside out.
Movement
Movement is at the heart of Yo-Chi. Through flowing sequences inspired by yoga and tai chi, children learn to connect with their bodies, express their emotions, and release tension. Regular movement supports healthy growth, boosts concentration, and helps children feel grounded and confident. At Yo-Chi, we use movement as a fun and powerful tool to nurture both physical wellbeing and emotional balance.
Nature
We help children reconnect with the natural world and understand their place within it by exploring the seasons, elements, and rhythms of life. This connections nurture a sense of wonder, balance, and belonging. Through stories, movement, and seasonal learning, children discover how nature supports their physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing—fostering a deep respect for the world around them.
Not only does this unique Yo-Chi programme give children tools for a healthy life through Yoga and mindfulness but the ‘Organ’ Characters’ teach the children about the functions of their bodies, seasonal food and healthy eating. Meet Harriet the Heart, Brian the Brain and Stanley Stomach. The children learn about the function of all their organs plus the Seasonal Fruits and vegetable that are good for them. Each season we give the children a brand new curriculum with stories and exercises that build each season giving them vital tools for life. The also children receive a booklet full of Seasonal Yo-Chi poses, recipes and mindfulness tips which they can take home
Creativity
Creativity is at the heart of Yo-Chi—we believe in children’s imaginations! Through storytelling, shared experiences, and group activities, children learn empathy, cooperation, and communication. By fostering a sense of belonging and emotional safety, Yo-Chi helps children build strong social bonds and develop the confidence to express who they are in a kind and respectful way.
Mindfulness
Mindfulness is a core pillar of the Yo-Chi programme. By learning to pause, breathe, and notice the present moment, children develop greater emotional awareness and self-regulation. Our mindfulness practices help children feel calmer, more focused, and better equipped to handle everyday challenges. At Yo-Chi, we make mindfulness simple, playful, and meaningful—giving children lifelong tools for inner peace and resilience.
“Teaching Yo-Chi is the highlight of my week. It’s amazing to see children grow in confidence, calm, and connection—inside and out”
— Sophie Danes, Yo-Chi Teacher
